I have T-Mobile, but often also use unlocked or Verizon phones in our household. Looking at getting a 7+. What's the best deal right now for a new one?

On T-Mobile, I see the 256gb version is the same price as a 128gb (I really only need 32gb, but I guess the larger the better). I've heard also Costco in-store has the 32gb 7+ for $550, but I have not been in one of their stores to verify.

What else has anyone seen that doesn't force me to add a line (like the current T-Mobile promo)? Thanks!

Most of the deals I have seen REQUIRE you service on that carrier - meaning you can not swap carriers after the sale.

Unfortunately, I"m on an older grandfathered T-Mobile plan and when I asked a CSR, they said I'd have to upgrade my plan to T-Mobile One. No thanks.

Thinking about it a bit more, and while a hassle, can I just sign up for a brand new additional 2-line account, get the promo, and cancel in 2-3 months (depending on when that $700 gift card arrives)? Per my calculations (after taxes, the service, low data kickback, rebate card) it would cost me a net of $637-687 per iPhone 8 Plus 64gb ($637 if 2 months of service, $687 if 3 months of service).

Attached is a breakdown (my sales tax rate factored in is 7.75%).
