I have an HDD I want to use as a backup, but I'm not sure which option is best for formatting it. It is an XP drive and I get these options on erasing it:

Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
Mac OS Entended
Mac OS Entended (Case-sensitive, Journaled)
Mac OS Entended (Case-sensitive)
MS DOS File System
Unix File system

So which is the best? I'm looking for speed and stability so I'm thinking the Unix File System, but I really have no idea.

NM, I went ahead and included the driver in case I would have to access it on an OS 9 machine.

Installing the OS 9 drivers is no big deal. They are basically stored on an area of the HD that you can't get to anyway, and they take up no more space than just doing a traditional formatting.
