Whats the best way to backup Itunes and Iphoto?

Im planning on reformatting the harddrive... i have a 40GB external harddrive; that i can back everything up to... I have a 32 GB library of music and probally a gig of pictures.... id like it so when i put them back the Playlists, and song details and whatnot stay around...

I'd recommend iBackup

There are alot of posts on backup to be found by searching the forums.

My personal choice is iBackup to an external hard drive on a nightly basis.
