Hi, I just bought a new MBP 17" to replace my old one. I also bought an OWC 240GB SSD to replace the stock HD on my new MBP. My question is, should I use migration assistant to transfer all my data to the new stock HD first and then clone it to the new SSD? Or should I clone the SSD first and then use migration assistant to move the old data directly to the SSD? Or is there an even better way to do this?

Wouldn't transferring your data to the old HD stock then cloning it to the new SSD be doubling the work? Why not just setup the SSD first on the new MBP then put your data from the old MBP on there once the HD is replaced.

What would be the best way to setup the new SSD? I was thinking of just cloning the stock HD to the SSD, then just replace the stock HD. Is there a better way to do this?
