I reside in the US and travel internationally quite often. Is there an optimal format to enter phone numbers for our contacts so that when we call that number, it'll be valid and work no matter where we are located?

For Example... for my contacts in the US, i have my numbers written in this format... +1 (212) 555-1212, and for an international contact I would have something like +66 (0) 7874-98373 (Thailand).

The thing i notice about Asian countries, and I'm not sure if this applies to all international countries or just some in Asia. But when calling a mobile phone, you usually will drop the 0. Hence I think why you would write it with brackets around the 0. So If I were to dial that Thailand # from within the country or internationally, it will work. Which is what I'm trying to do. Find a format that will work no matter where I am.

The format work for every country having a “0” (90% of them), Enter simply +66 9 999 999. Even if you are in the country itself, Thailand for ex., it will work. I am using these forest exclusively, even if my home country, since 20 years!
