What's the best way to get Game Center Friends?

Around two weeks ago, I went from having an iPhone 3G to buying a white iPhone 4. Now that I have Game Center, I'd love to be able to play with other people, but sadly only two or three of my friends ever play on Game Center. I was kind of just wondering, how should I get more friends? Could I just post my username on this thread or something, and see if anyone adds that? Or, is there anything dangerous about doing that?
