What's the cleanest way to restore/setup at new an IP6?

And by cleanest I mean least painful. My priority is keeping my contacts and photos. I couldn't care less about any of the other stuff.


Can I restore, setup as new, then sync the Contact, Mail, etc. info form iCloud? or do I need to do a backup to my Mac first?
