What's the deal with 2.1 jailbreaking?

My touch is currently jailbroken with 2.0.2, with Cydia and Installer and numerous stuff from it installed.

I'm planning to download 2.1, install it (thus removing my packages and such, or so I assume) then use QuickPwn for Mac to re-jailbreak it.

Will 2.1 erase all my Cydia stuff, too? And will my above method work?

you would first have to restore to 2.1, so yeah ur cydia stuff will be gone but u can just redownload them.

I would just make a small list of any themes or applications or any sources that you have added to your ipod, so when you pwn 2.1 you can quickly download all of your stuff again.
