I just switched in September and in the threads that specualte on what will be announced at MWSF, I always see posts about expecting/wanting an updated QuickTime.

So, what is the good thing about that? I have used this iMac G5 as my main computer since I got it and I have not used QT for anything other than viewing small movies from the web.

Am I missing something here? I use my Mac for everyday stuff (iTunes, Web, Email) as well as GarageBand, iMovie, and iDVD.

Thanks all. I never said this, but without this forum I would never of had the confidence to switch.

QuickTime has a host of features for users, developers and content creators beyond the ability to just view movie clips from the web. Basically it can be used to create media content as well as view it, for example, QuickTime is used to encode the music you import into iTunes.
