Hi

I'd like a new battery for my 2.16GHz Core Duo MBP

It's $200/£100 on the UK Apple Store, but on ebay there are a load of 'new' Apple MBP batteries for much cheaper - about 30% of the price of the Apple Store batteries.

Some of them are from Hong Kong, some are from the UK.

What's the deal? Are they the real thing - anyone ever order one? What's the catch?

Thanks

Edd

They are bootleg and their quality cannot be guaranteed unless you buy from a reputable seller like OWC. If they kill your computer, it's not covered.

Get an appropriate battery from a reputable supplier; you have spent a lot of money on a first class computer, why risk your computer's health for a false saving? Besides, as alphaod has pointed out, they are bootleg and you are not covered if anything goes wrong. Cheers.
