ProCare compliments AppleCare (it's not a replacement). It gets you to the front of the lines, private lessons, computer & keyboard cleanings, etc... Just overall better service.

ProCare is an annual fee rather than a one time per system fee like AppleCare.

so, every body needs applecare & procare & dot.mac

if you get all that, how do you afford a computer?
No one needs Pro Care except for time-sensitive professionals, in some cases. It's a plus for others, but not a need.

.Mac is also nice but not needed.

AppleCare is usually a good idea, but you've got a year to buy that.

I was being sarcastic on this entry. I DO appreciate the differentiation between AppleCare and ProCare. I probably would've figured it out eventually myself, but Apple had just sent me a email touting ProCare, and it occurred to me that it may be a name-change or somethiing. sometimes i type without thinking -- i often open my mouth similarly.

Thanx for the explanation.
