I do not want to do a factory reset and restore. I want to remove all music and start over fresh.

Currently I have iTunes set to sync only checked playlists, songs, etc. With everything unchecked, it still leaves music.

A problem I am having is only some songs in a new playlist will transfer to the iPhone with plenty of space available in the usage stats. All the songs are playable within iTunes. Other playlists on the phone will not delete when I uncheck them in iTunes and sync.

As an additional topic, is there a way to reset the purchased playlist to only have new music going forward and not purchased music for all time?

Not sure.

To clear all music:
1. Settings
2. General
3. iPhone Storage
4. Select "Music"
5. Select "Delete App" (this will delete Music)
6. Re-download Music

sign out of apple Music. and then sign out of the App store. then sign back into the App store.

this forces your apple Music that has been downloaded to yr device to be deleted, immediately from yr device.
the playlists and links that you had those albums/songs on yr device are still in place in iCloud if you are subscribed to apple Music on a 2nd device but the music content itself will be deleted from yr device.
it won't delete any purchased music bought either in the former iTunes store or current apple Music app.

i don't think there is a way to get iTunes account manager to show only newer purchased music.
