I bought a 27 inch iMac a few weeks ago with a 1TB HDD but I really want to stick an SSD in there now. I just saw the new Kingston V200+SSD (http://www.kingston.com/us/ssd/vplus/) and it looks promising, their HyperX SSD just looks insane (http://www.kingston.com/us/ssd/hyperx).

I don't know much about SSDs beside read/write speeds, SATA levels, and that they're much faster than an HDD. I do a lot of video editing and notice quite a bit of lag in FCP X. I know this computer is powerful enough to run it without lag so it must be the HDD holding it back.

Which SSDs do you guys find are the best? I'm looking for the fastest and most reliable option out there. On Amazon people say Kingston's SSDs freeze a lot, but then again those are mainly PC users.

Also, which stores will do installations of SSD on a Mac?

Thanks. I just realized how difficult it is to install SSDs into the iMac. I'm not down to do that myself lol. Are there any nationwide companies that do installations of SSDs into Apple products? I already tried MacMall and they don't do that.
