Have done a good job giving up all sodas and all Coffees. Have primarily drank only straight ice cold water for the most part, with the occasional full lemon or lime for a quick lemonade or limeade. I’ll add honey in lieu of sugar.

Friend recommended adding mint for a virgin mojito.

Wondering what other drinks are better alternatives to soda and great healthy go-to drinks.

Not a big fan of Kombucha. Am getting bored or just drinking water.

Cold: barley tea, sparkling water with lime juice and black pepper, chicha morada (all natural), Mexican horchata (actually not that healthy)

Hot: mint tea (without sugar), herbal teas, champurrado (OK, not that healthy either)

I drink a lot of cans of “Egekilde”. It’s sparkling water with aroma flavours essentially. It’s my main thing to drink.

Coffee is considered healthy though especially if you’re caffeine tolerant. If you’re not genetically caffeine tolerant, it can have some negatives to it, especially if you overdo it, but if you’re genetically caffeine tolerant coffee can be quite healthy without the usual downsides like elevated heart rate and whatnot.
Caffeine tolerant people also do not get energy from drinking coffee, n’or withdrawal issues like lack of energy when not consuming coffee

Anything without kale...

I have always wondered about Caffeine-free, Sugar-free Coke. I mean, why bother? All you are drinking is flavoured phosphoric acid with sweetener made from coal tar.

Now, sugar cane. Strip off the outer husk and chew the fibres. The fibres will clean your teeth, there is a mild biocide in there to stop the sugar going off, and the energy expended in chewing the sugar cane is greater than that in the small amount of sugar you imbibe.

Water. We double-filter from the tap. I have some old Kombucha 16 ounce glass bottles and usually leave two bottles in the fridge so that I have chilled water when I want it in the summer. In the winter, the basement is cold so I just leave it there.

Our town has added considerable filtration in the past year due to PFOA contamination from a manufacturing plant. It didn't affect us that much because it's at the other end of town but it doubled our water bills. They are adding further filtration though I don't know what for or maybe it's just in another part of town. We are going to sue the company for our water supply expenses.

The black pepper sounds like an interesting addition. Might have to try that...

Smoothies!
Almond milk, mustard leaf, real ginger, banana, homemade yoghurt, avocado and some ice. Change out the mustard leaf for berries on alternative days. It's a brekkie drink, but will fill you up and get you ready for the day!

As for plain water, you can add some aloe juice or a little bit of magnesium liquid to your water for a healthy alternative to just water (don't overdo it though). Cucumber water is a favorite of mine as well.

We got one of those soda maker thingies for a wedding present a few years back, and I enjoy making fizzy water and throwing in a small amount of grapefruit juice for a little flavor. Kind of like a boozeless Paloma. Especially refreshing in the summer!

This week coffee is back in the good list.

As for red wine, yes there is goodness in red wine, but you have to drink 200 bottles a day to get your average daily dose. Doing this may cause other problems...

If you like Apple juice, try fizzing that up. Delightful.

Easy answer: Vesper Martini, as described by James Bond in Casino Royale. Many health benefits including but not limited to:
1- avoiding unhealthy activities such as driving, operating heavy machinery, over-exertion in any way
2- calming effects far more effective and immediate than yoga or meditation
3- even with quality ingredients can be cheaper than, say, a 6-pack of cola
4- gives your liver a thorough workout
