I have a brand new macbook, and i put the ministat widget in to check the heat, and its saying one cpu is 148 and the other is 250! is that normal, or is it a chance the widget is wrong i doesnt feel too hot, i am ripping a dvd, and the fan s going

whats the hottest your cpu should get?

Can't help you regarding whether you're MacBook is running too hot.

But when I'm ripping a DVD, my Mac also heats up, alot.

I installed fancontrol, freeware, google it. This will allow you to have some control over your MacBook's temperature.
