What's the most protective case for the iPhone?

I've been wondering for a while what the most compact and protective case is for the iPhone. I don't care which model of the iPhone. Anything for the first gen, 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S, 5.

The OtterBox Armor Case http://www.slinkystudio.info/reviews/2013/2/25/otterbox-armor-series-case-for-iphone-44s-review.html sounds remarkably strong and is the most protective case I know of. But can anyone suggest other cases that top it?

I have been using the 'bumper' and to carry it out, a leather zipper mini bag. It works great. No scratches at all.

I highly recomend Otterbox Armor. Just love it! It is bulky but when you get used to it you will love it.

I'd suggest an OtterBox Defender (it's what I use when I need extra "protection") or a LifeProof case if you're extra clumsy.

Hilarious. That's tops for ugliness too.

That's just the Lifejacket that goes over the Lifeproof case. Totally removable but floats and saves you from dropping your phone to a watery depth.
