Can we expect apple to show us something soon as far as YouTube specifically is concerned?
I miss the simplicity.
 
I'm not sure what you're expecting to hear from Apple. They've dropped the app. Now it's really up to Google to bring out a YouTube app for iPad. They've released a YouTube app for iPhone already.

Given their slowness on releasing proper Google Drive and Google+ apps for iPad I wouldn't hold my breath though.
