Hello,
For those of you that have a Mac with a mechanical hard drive, how does the UI performance of macOS Sierra compare to OS X El Capitan? I occasionally experience UI lag when opening apps or dealing with medium to heavy I/O tasks on Macs with spinning drives, which I can't say I experience under Windows or Debian with the same hardware. I have not yet upgraded to macOS Sierra because there aren't any new features that look useful to me, but I would be interested in upgrading if there are noticeable performance improvements.
Can anyone tell me what the UI performance is like in macOS Sierra on Macs with spinning drives? I have an iMac 27-inch, Mid 2015. My question is targeted towards common tasks like opening apps, launching Mission Control and multitasking.
Thanks.
