I have 3 different users on my ATV, but what's the point if it doesn't seem to do anything? I tried logging into my wife's account on the ATV and tried rearranging the homescreen icons, and then switched back to mines and the icons appear to be the same no matter which account you're on? Am I missing something here?

Switching profiles affects Up Next/Watch History, Store Purchase Library, Apple Music Library/Playlists, Apple Arcade save files.
Yep. All that except YouTube. Which is kind of annoying to have to go into youtube and switch profiles again

That’s no different for any other standalone app that has its own profile options that are not directly connected to your AppleID.

Wish it was different. On my ps5 my wife has her own name and when she switches over to her name, her YouTube and everything else is in her name. She doesnt have to change anything else

Apparently that functionality is actually part of the tvOS code, it’s just down to the individual app developers to implement it.

of course it does.

The whole point is to keep the histories and watch lists - up next - separate.

If you are watching a particular series you want your progress to be maintained. You also probably dont want someone else's shows appearing in your up next queue.

That said you dont have to use other profiles - just have everyones shows bundled together in one big up next list.

Seems like the Photos should switch over, but they don’t appear to for us.

Yeah I thought the same, but you would think that each user would have their own home screen setup as well. Just doesn't make much sense to me.

As myself and others have said...
... if you dont use the TV app to aggregate content across various streaming providers... then you wont see much benefit.
If you DO, you will.

The same reason you would have different user accounts on your Mac. So you can have separate apps and separate preferences and separate everything else.
