So YouTube just suggested this video to me and having watched this I’m perplexed as to why people make these videos or even why people watch these videos?!

They make these videos in hopes of gaining subscribers and clicks. It's Clickbait material. Most of these torture and drop test of these smart Phones area not indicative of real world experience of what somebody will encounter with their iPhones. Albeit, They are interesting to see the durability.

Just first worlders with more money than brains entertaining themselves.

Totally agree. Those YouTubers are just striving for more views even though they are pointless. I mean how often are the majority of users going to expose their iPhones to liquid nitrogen?

I think they're an interesting/entertaining way to find out the durability of these devices. Puts my mind at ease in some cases.

For eg. Putting the Airpods in a washing machine only to find they still worked, reduced my concern of wearing them during light rain.

They're an extreme barometer but they do serve a purpose imo.

Reminds me of the ‘Will it Blend’ videos which for some reason had millions of hits.

That I can understand and a useful test. But when will we going to get near a bucket of liquid nitrogen? If T-1000 terminator couldn't survive it, don't expect iPhone to either :p

Extreme testing is all apart of the development of new devices.

These are just amateur extensions of that testing & a bit of fun. :D

after 500 views or so Google will share ad revenue with you. These people make money from their videos
