I've been using a Mac for 4 years now, and I still don't really see the point of the green plus button. From what I know, it's supposed re size the window, but there doesn't seem to be any logic behind it.

Most of the time, the window just get's very slightly bigger or smaller, but doesn't help me out in anyway. What is Apple's beef with full screen? I think they should just go with the Windows style full screen button instead...

Ah, yeah, seeing GGJstudios's post above, what it does it that it expands the window so it is just wide enough for the webpage's contents.

I don't think there's any such thing as a maximise button on Mac OS X as there is on Windows, largely as the dock isn't flat and covering the whole bottom as it does on windows ^^

I never normally do that anyway, I just resize a window manually until I'm comfortable with the size of it.

It's probably somewhere in GGJStudios recommended links, but there's software that changes the green button so that it will make the window fit the entire screen.

@TheBritishBloke: it resizes the window to fit all the top corners (my dock is at the bottom) and then just above all the icons (I guess there's a maximum of icons height, and it's just above that).

The program is called RightZoom

I manually expand windows to within 1/32 of a inch or so from the very bottom. It won't go all the way. If I click the green button twice, the second time sends the bottom of the window to that same lower limit.

I get attachments that open up to full screen at work! Hate that!!
