What's the resale value like on iPad's?

So, I had the choice of getting the iPad 2 or the new iPad. I went for the new one, because am thinking in a years time, depending on the upgrades on the next iPad, I might want to sell my current one and get the next one.

Are the resale values good? Would I have to add much to get the new one in a years time.

As I said I might not necessarily do this, just got the latest one to future-proof me.

I placed my ipad 3 16gig on Craigslist for $430 with otterbox case but it took 3 hours to get one single response. I knew at that point I'm not getting my asking price. One guy offered $380 but I told him no less than $400. Since I had the day off I did not want to play around. Demand at this time last year was off the charts but this year not so much from the looks. Plus iPad 2's are still good devices.
If Apple releases a cheaper smaller iPad it will kill current iPad values across the board. Many people will slap the old models on ebay and craigslist just to make up the difference. Hell, I would gladly sale my wife's iPad 1 for $120 dollars towards a $250 iPad mini.

As with any Apple product, they hold their value substantially more than comparable devices. I sold my i4 for $350 on eBay when I ordered my 4S. I also sold my iPad 1 on Craigslist for $250 a couple of months ago when I bought this iPad 3.
