Recently I had the need to pull some information off of an old, 32MB thumb drive. This got me to wondering if anyone else has such a small (or smaller) USB thumb drive. What's the smallest thumb drive you have? Or CF card?

16MB from CompUSA. Though I still have a couple 256MB USB flash drives (I actually like that size for USB input in the car radio) and a 256MB Kanguru FireFlash.

I s’ppose this 1995 beauty of mine is the winner, with the boring microSD card thrown in just for size comparison.

A few 1/2MB CF's from my early printer days.

A handful of 8-256MB thumbs that are more historical, than temporally-applicable (I can still read them, of course; they are nostalgia items).

Feel free. I had thought about mentioning them but wasn't sure there are any "small" ones.

Alright, my smallest cards are both 64 MB - an MMC and an SD. I took one of them out of retirement recently to use with an 8-Bit computer and mistakenly thought that amount of space would be sufficient to contain its entire (short-lived) games library.

I ended up requiring 256 MB as the bare minimum...

Well, cripes!

*sigh*

Looks like I'm gana have to pry-open some back-closet storage bins, and snap a photo (which some of you know might happen (if it does) in a handful of years from now (I have the attention-span of a caffeinated hummingbird))

32MB. It was my first USB stick and while I'd had the concept in my head of what those were, actually seeing the physical device was weird to me. My mom gave it to me, probably because she had no use for it. Came on a lanyard and had one of those old style 'lock' buttons.

When I got it, I was dealing with Macs on a network where files that small were not any sort of a thing. So it became pretty useless to me.

I have absolutely no idea where it is now and quite possibly it might have been left at my old job.

I do have a 512mb stick though, which came through an eBay auction for a Dunkin' Donuts mug. I wanted the mug, which the seller was using as a pencil holder and the USB stick (a promotional item) came as part of it.

I still really don't have much use for it.

First post specifically mentions USB so I don't think anything else (CF cards, PCMCIA card etc) count...

The first post mentioned CF cards too...

I asked the OP...

Are SD cards included too alongside the CF ones?

Sandisk Cruzer Blade 4Gb. My parents gave it to me as a small gift back in 2010. Thing still works! Albeit I don’t use it often and just store some old files on it

I knew I could count on members of this forum to come up with some good stuff. It's kind of a walk down memory lane.

As for other storage media types if feel free to add them too (love the PCMCIA memory).

Smallest I've got in the lab is a 32MB MemoryStick Duo; the only file on it is a severely compressed One Gigapixel Blue Screen of Death.

Didn't see the part about other forms of storage. I think I've got some small CF cards that go with the Newtons too, but I didn't see them. The Kodak card being 4MB would be the smallest I have handy. Also appears I was off on the FireFlash.

USB: 16MB
FireWire: 512MB
Card: 4MB
