I hate my XR, apps freeze up, have to v=back out of the camera app and try again to take a pic.

When going to landscape from portrait it hangs up. And it’s too damn big.

I can get $220 trade towards a 12 mini but they don’t seem to be getting great reviews. Anyone else have issues with their 12 mini?

I just fired Verizon today and switched over to AT&T - I doubt I’ll see a difference but they only had 5G Sims cards for our 4G iPhones - the guy said we might see a bit faster responses, I doubt it.

The 12 mini is great if you want a smaller device.

Pretty much the only negative I see about the 12 mini is that if you play games on your phone then you probably want a different phone as the battery drains really fast when gaming.

My anecdotal experience with the mini is that I had two minis with the same issue:

On black backgrounds using the brightness between 20-50% it would have like a dark gray for a few seconds then it would go completely black. It’s almost like the pixels weren’t turning off correctly. There was also a green tint to it as well.

However, this may be fixed with iOS 14.5 and I’ve also read that people who bought phones recently that this isn’t a problem any more. I was also able to recreate this issue on a 12 Pro but I have a 12 that doesn’t have this issue. All phones I tested on were made near release so I’m thinking it’s probably resolved now.

I’m a pretty average user I think. I only play one game and make a few moves a day between my phone or iPad. The rest is a bit of social media, half an hour to hour of reddit a day. Very little YouTube quick video if it’s texted to me. The rest is texting and the rare phone call.

I have 5G turned off. Just didn’t seem worth it in my area.

I end the day with about 40/50 percent battery left. Battery was my biggest worry and it hasn’t been an issue for me.

Had the mini and then went to the max. Like them both, but will stick with the max. Unlike others, I did have issues with battery life. I was able to get through a day, but battery life wasn't quite as good as I'd like. no issues there with the max.

There’s really nothing else new to report about the mini. Some love it some don’t and you’ll find these different opinions on every product here.
If you like a small compact iPhone it’s a great choice in my opinion- and the battery recharges very quickly with the correct chargers.

The Mini is a great phone. I got one shortly after launch day, but a week ago I did switch to the 12 Pro. The battery was just a little lacking for my use and the smaller screen was not as nice to use with the keyboard (a little too cramped). Oh, and I actually did miss the 3rd telephoto lens.

Size is great, so comfortable to carry. Recently hold the Max iPhone and it was cumbersome. Probably i will never buy bigger iphone than iphone mini.

I love mine. I have two.
Don’t say that. Now that the purple is out I am so tempted to get myself one for my birthday to keep my green mini company. 😆

The mini is a nice pocket friendly phone. I don’t know if it’s for everyone due to the small display and battery. I do have a larger phone I use more inside the house for things most people use iPads for. I just don’t like dealing with the size of even a small tablet.

I’m legit trying to figure out how to get the purple one the cheapest way, I haven’t found a good option yet.

I hope you find a good deal. Would you then have 3 minis to keep?

I don’t really think I will be able to get a second mini but that purple is fun to daydream about.

I recently upgraded from the iPhone 6s because the battery was getting very weak, to the 12 Mini and I dumped Verizon because their customer service is atrocious. I went with the Mini because it most closely matched my old 6s in size as it fits perfectly in my shirt pocket. I bought the Blue model but that doesn't really matter because the protective case covers the entire back except for the lens opening. My wife uses the XR which I do not care for at all.
My new provider uses the Verizon cell backbone so my reception remained the same.
As for functionality, the Mini meets and exceeds all my needs. I do not play games on these devices and I do not use any of the big social media platforms.

My 12 Mini is the best iphone I have ever owned. I am not sure where you have seen reviews that are not great about the 12 mini, all the tech sites I have read have given it great reviews (Techradar, The Verge etc) and all the tech u tubers love it (Johnathon Morrison etc).

Love it. No complaints at all. I was using a 6s until last year, got the 11 Pro to buy the smallest phone possible, immediately traded it in for the mini when it came out. This is my new 5 year phone.

Absolutely love it. I had a 5S and then moved to an XR --- I never got comfortable with the size and weight of the XR. I find the 12 Mini absolutely perfect for my use. ---- no battery issues whatsoever, love the camera, and fits nicely in shirt and pants pockets. I will be very disappointed with Apple if the 12 Mini ends up being a "one and done" model.

For me, is a great yes. Love the size; battery, screen and camera are very good for my daily use.

Oh maybe only one complaint: I wanted a gorgeous red colour like XR or 8/8 plus instead of the coral-like that they chose. That’s the reason why I decided to go white.

All I know is I'm gonna be super upset if Apple ditches it due to it not be lucrative enough (re: reports sales haven't met their expectations). Perhaps the mini has a niche fanbase (though it sure didn't seem that way before it was ever announced), but they should keep it around out of respect (for lack of a better term) for the people who just don't want a bigger phone. This phone is perfect. And the camera is exceptional, regardless of what's better.

I love babies, puppies, and my Mini. It’s pocket friendly and all I need in a phone. No regrets, I switched from a 12 to the Mini. And it’s blue too my favorite color.
I don't recall ever being a baby although my parents certainly told me 'don't be a baby' numerous times growing up. Puppies and the mini I can vouch for as being wonderful :D
