Right now they have a pretty good deal on them, 130 bucks off. Im wanting to get an air but I'm still wanting to see what apple has in store for the next iPad update. I don't think it would be anything that impressive, but if i can get the iPad now and still be able to return it if need be, i will.

If you get the $100 coupon to work let us know. I tried it and it only applies to clearance tablets.

What code are you using? The code I used said it wasn't a clearance item. I wouldn't mind getting an rMini for $269.

The code from the post here:
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1769835/
The company is also offering $100 off select computers that are regularly priced at $499 or more with the coupon code 11605, which applies to all iPads priced over $499, for a total discount of up to $130 on some Retina iPad mini models.

Needs to be the 32GB or larger rMini for the code to work.

i got the coupon to work, you guys think i should get 16 or 32? I won't be putting movies, photos, or music on the iPad. I just plan on using it for school to read pdfs and for browsing the web here at the house and to play the occasional game here and there.

Wonderful! Got an email this morning saying the black iPad mini Smart Cover I ordered on Friday had shipped. Got another email 10 minutes later saying the 32GB retina iPad mini I had ordered at the same time is now Not Available. So I'll have me a new black Smart Cover in a day or two and no iPad mini to use it on. LOL.

When you called the store, what did they say?

Movies can take a lot of space. 32GB and you will not regret it.

Except he said he won't be using it for Movies.

I would say get most amount of storage you can afford. Having said that I have a 16Gb rMini which I use for similar things without running into storage issues.
