So, what is the worst thing that could happen if you use the current hacks out their to activate and unlock your phone?

1. Screw up the software and need to reinstall everything from scratch.
2. Somehow 'break it' rendering it useless and unable to reinstall
3. ?

I am guessing that the worst thing that could happen is 1? Correct? I don't think you could mess it up to the point that it simply would not work at all even with a restore?

Any ideas?

I do not know- my Unlock went smooth and flawless. Started with a boxed iPhone and just followed the instructions.

As it is all software, I would think a hard reset would be all that is necessary, but not having been there, I do not know for sure.

as long as you do a restore before upgrading to any future firmware versions I dont see it as a problem. However if you upgrade the new firmware may disable the exploit the code uses to unlock your phone.
