It's a software bug that happens when you delete pictures. Once you sync, or reset pics will be aligned correctly. Likely to be fixed soon in an update.

Well when you delete a picture it just leaves a blank spot and doesn't move the other(s) up to full the now empty spot(s). Not sure if I can get any more elementary that that.

I don;t think this happens to everyone, bc I have deleted photos, and I do not have the black boxes.

for every picture that shows a beaten up guy with a black eye, it will show 3 black squares to show its sincere condolences
