this morning, when i press power button, after the starting sound, instead of normal apple logo on the dark gray background.
1. in the center of my screen, there is my computer's icon and name "warren(i changed "macintosh harddisk" to "warren")".
2. below the icon is an arrow point upward.
i clicked the arrow, the apple logo then show up. any idea?

I searched everywhere, this looks like a totally weird situation? oh my, i should have take the picture, lol

Were you by any chance holding down the option key (alt).

Try it again while holding down tha alt key and it should reappear. It is nothing bad, just a way of selecting what startup disk you want.
