lately i've noticed there's an app hung in my Activity Monitor pretty often:

anybody knows what it means?

Is your main language English? I remember Panther having some issues with Eastern European languages and the menu bar (which is SystemUIServer AFAIK). Also, do you have an iPod plugged in at the time?

My main language is Dutch, and i'm running 10.3.9

edit: i plug in my iPod once in a while, to sync my adress book and iCal, i plug it in my pc to connect with iTunes.

this is all, everything else is hided

Well, I'm suspecting it's the AirPort menu but before we remove com.apple.airport.menuextra.plist, maybe open a file named SystemUIServer.crash.log and tell us what you see. :)

okay, i'm awake again :)

i'm afraid i don't have a file named SystemUIServer.crash.log
neither do i have com.apple.airport.menuextra.plist

when i search for "menuextra" i get the following results:
com.apple.menuextra.battery.plist
com.apple.modemmenuextra.plist
com.apple.vpnmenuextra.plist
