I just got a refurb iPod touch (yay!) and I'm wondering what the white piece of plastic that came with it is. It looks like some kind of stand for the Touch, and it has a place that looks like it would clip on to something... but there's nothing to clip it on to. There is an oval depression in it (which would accomodate the bottom of the Touch), with a rectangular hole that is about the same size as the charging/syncing cable (the one with the USB on the other end)... but I'm at a loss as to what to do with this.... this *thingy*!

Perhaps it fits somewhere on the new thin iMac keyboards? I have the previous gen keyboard for my white iMac...

Any help would be appreciated.

It's for putting the iPod into a universal Dock: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB125G/B?n=ipodtouch2&fnode=MTY1NDA0OQ&mco=MjE0NTAzNw&s=topSellers

I think I know what you're talking about. A small clear plastic doodad? That is indeed a stand for your iPod Touch. All you do is lay the stand down, and cradle the iPod in it, either vertically or horizontally.

Here is a pic of one

Did you read the thread at all? He said white plastic.

Plus, they don't include anything like that in the package. What he has is the dock adapter.

Thanks, everybody. I'll keep it on hand. I'll make do with the cord for now...

That is an interesting stand, but that's not what I have.

BTW - it's *she*... :)

Bacong,

Did you read the thread at all? Where does it say that the op is a he? It doesn't, so it seems you assumed.

Don't be a jerk!

Who, me? I'm being a jerk for pointing out that I'm female? lol
Uh, OP specifically said "thingy" more than once -- and you thought it was a guy?
Now *that* has to be the most intelligent comment in this whole thread! :D
I did consider whether to use such a distinctive technical term as "thingy", but I was in a hurry. :p
it's an iPod Touch!!!
ROFL!! ding ding ding ding ding! and the goldenmackid wins the prize for funniest (funnest??) comment in this thread. I bow down to your ascerbic wit! :D :D :D
