It seems like no matter where I access MR, I always get ads for Men's Underwear!

When using my computer, school computers, public library computers, everywhere I always see these men's underwear ads.

What's up with them? It's not like they offend me, it's just so arbitrary to see them in the mix with tech product ads I normally see on here.

Probably website tracking that is following you around showing you targeted ads.

MacRumors uses an advertising service that supplies ads from a pool. We do not select the specific ads shown or the specific advertisers who participate.

If you find a particular ad especially annoying (e.g., an ad that is oversized, obscures the page, moves around, or has sound), let us know by posting a screenshot in our Site and Forum Feedback forum and telling us the URL it links to. Using this information we can ask to have it removed from the ad pool.

If you find all ads annoying, remember that ads support the site and allow us to provide free news, rumors, and discussion, and that ads are suppressed for paid members. See How do I contribute to MacRumors.com? above.

Yep, I get the underwear adds a lot. It's because I once clicked on the link and now they follow me everywhere on the net.
I have also seen plenty of adds for the Harry razor with the blades. I am thinking of trying them out.

Isn't "underwear" standard dress code for work-from-home computer geeks?

One step down from "business casual": "Business underwear"

Harry is not that bad considering the low price, but definitely lasts less than overpriced brand-name blades when you re-use them way past their supposed expiry date. Make sure to use top notch foam.

I get the underwear ads a lot. Even when I access from another computer unrelated to my normal browsing habits, so it isn't targeted. I ignore them now.

P.S. This thread made me laugh. :)

I usually block ads, but I like to support this site and they do a good job of keeping ads unobtrusive so I usually allow them here.

So it's working!

Haha, I sometimes get that also. Recently on Amazon, while shopping for a smoke/CO detector, I got the following,

I think it is brilliant to have the underwear ads here.

Just look at the threads around items like when the Mac Pro and latest Mac Mini specs and prices were announced. - A change of underwear might have been in order for many.

So maybe those overpriced blades aren't so overpriced?:p

I've been thinking of trying Harry's myself but have been somewhat skeptical. You can shave a sheep dog with Gillette razors and still use them for a month:D

I always see ads for stuff like fountain pens, sunglasses, and neckties.

...except once, I searched on Amazon or something for Calvin Klein boxer briefs, and then I saw undies for a few days...

....wait, GOOGLE TRACKS WHAT WE DO? :D

Amazon is a terrific source of random affinities.
