First time Mac owner and I was thinking of giving Safari a go over Chrome as I use it on my phone and it seems super quick on the Mac.

Is there any ways to get rid of the excessive ads though?

All websites seem like the one in the attached pic, where in Chrome (no ad blocker or anything) there are no ads, where there are two hugely invasive ones in Safari?

Is there anything I can do to get rid of them, or am I destined to be a Chrome surfer on Mac?

You have something blocking ads in Chrome. There are plenty of adblockers that work in Safari too.

I don't. That Im aware of anyway!

I've never actively sought an adblocker before, I do have a couple of cookie trackers installed for work reasons, maybe they do it?. I'm not getting the same ads on iOS safari though, again no ad blocker there

I bet your cookie tracker is blocking ads in Chrome.

there are a lot of ad blocking extensions in Safari. I like Ghostery.

In iOS Safari I use the Purify ad blocker.

I have Ghostery on Chrome which must be what it is doing it. Will look for a similar tool on Safari.

Thanks all

Same two things I use: Ghostery on Mac, Purify on iOS. Both have worked great for me for years.
