hi all!

I just bought the new 1.25 imac last weekend, what a beauty!!

Now I have a question, I downloaded some softwares such like Yahoo Messenger, Outlook 2001 whose installation files end with .dms

The system won't open it. what can I do? I need my Yahoo Messenger

Please help! Thank You all!!

Afaik, YM doesn't even use a DMG installer, I just went to the site and the download is a .bin file that extracts to "Yahoo! Messenger 2.5.3 (OS X)" on your desktop. Installs just fine on my PB 1.33.

If the files you're having trouble with come off a CD someone ripped, just download the latest versions from the websites instead.

You downloaded Outlook2001? Wow that's mighty nice of MS to give you Outlook for free.

Maybe .dms is a virus

Thanks to you all!!

Thank u all first

The problem was there's been a misanderstanding between Safari and Speed download II.
Everything Safari picked up was renamed to *.dms instead of .dmg which they are suppose to be.
I uninstalled SDII and now the prob is solved.

Thank you all again!!

ps., I got the imac for two weeks and by far what I like the most about it, is apple's phone support, they are really the best service I've ever been with!!
