What's your favorite file extension? Not because of what it represents; just 'cause!

Personally, I'm gonna go with AIFF. "ayeff! ayeff!" sounds like a dog. SWEET!

.rar - Egyptian sounding

.doc - least favourite, hate it, hate using word

.exe - executable, sounds good

.jpeg

It like a cooler and more efficient .bmp that everyone uses. "J-peg" yo. It's so cool that even the acronym often gets abbreviated (.jpg)

... I just realized how ridiculous that sounds.

.app

I find it cool because it's one of the only ones that the abbreviation is actually a valid word and description of the file.

I hate .exe and .docx. x is not a good letter to have in a file extension. It just looks unfriendly. And how are you even supposed to pronounce .docx? "Docks"? "Doc X?" Uggh...

It's these little things that show the difference in attitude towards computing at Microsoft and Apple. Microsoft has uncomfortable 'x's all over the place.
Apple on the other hand has .app, .pages, .numbers - it just makes sense.

I hate '.doc' too. It just sounds waaay too Windows for my taste. I don't like .exe, tho..

.png - "ping" sounds nice and conjures up delightful notions of gif-like transparency with the benefit of jpg.

.psd. Forced to enunciate each letter, it's cool because it implies you have Photoshop and presumably know how to use it.

.dmg I always read as a 'damage' file, so it's not my favourite.

I hate long file extensions.
.torrent should be .tnt
.pages should be .pgs

I don't really have a favorite, but I hate .exe, it always reminds me of virii-infested Windows.
