I personally am a big fan of FPS's with good multiplayer (COD4 and Resistance, for example), and also I love intriguing Action/Adventure games (Uncharted being a good example). What about you? RTS? RPG? Adventure? Sandbox? There's a bunch of stuff out there... let's hear it!

Casual Racing - Mario Kart
Puzzle - Sudoku/Brain Age/Tetris
Platformer - Mario/Sonic
FPS - Battlefield 2/SOCOM
Space Battle - Star Trek Legacy
Sim - SimCity 4
Battle - Super Smash Brothers
Sports - MLB2006 The Show/Madden

My Favorite would be Sims and Platformers

TEG

Adventure (esp. w/puzzle elements...Zelda, Metroid, Shadow of the Colossus), Arcadey Racing (Mario Kart, Burnout), Platforming (especially extremely difficult but precision-control 2D ones, such as the MegaMan Zero series or Super Mario Bros: Lost Levels).

I enjoy FPS and strategy games in limited numbers (genres are too oversaturated and so I only pick them up on occasion- FPS is more saturated, but strategy requires too much time to get skilled at, so I limit my purchases of each).

I have a special place in my hearts for good or creative boss fights. Hence why I love Shadow of the Colossus, the classic Sonic and Kirby games, fighting Sephiroth on Kingdom Hearts II over and over, etc.

I make occasional exceptions and generally enjoy hybrids. Kingdom Hearts was mix RPG/Adventure, Portal was mix Puzzle (Adventure?) and FPS, Smash Bros was mix Fighter and Platformer, Metroid Prime was mix Adventure and FPS...

Yeah I do enjoy a good fighter, but to be honest I am a bit narrow minded in that I only play Super Smash (either on my N64 or Brawl on my friends Wii) It is a kick ass party game though!

I used to be more into Racers, back in my PC days, but I have since gotten out of it. I don't know why... maybe I will get back into the swing of things when GT5 Prologue comes out.

God, what a good question.

I can't think of a single genre that I enjoy the most, but if push comes to shove, I'd say adventure games, ala Zelda/Ratchet and Clank, etc.

I enjoy a good FPS, but definitely not my favorite genre. TPS are actually growing on me quite a bit.

You of course realize what the next genre in gaming is, of course - the Second Person Shooter. You only see yourself through the eyes of the enemies you are supposed to kill. How badass is that.

Platformers all the way. Too bad most haven't made the switch to 3D so well. Wish they'd leave some classics sidescrollers and use the added power to make some fantastic levels. These are the games I keep coming back to. RPG's are fun but once I play through...that's it.

I really had to think about this.....

It's either:

a) survival horror, as I've enjoyed all the Resident Evils (except Gun Survivor and the other rubbish spin offs), Dino Crisis (Crises?), Silent Hills etc.

or b) RPGs, specifically the old Squenix stuff.

special mentions go to Turn based strategy (Advance Wars FTW) and old Lucasarts point and clicks. I wish they'd go back to making Monkey Island games rather than substandard Star Wars ones.

I want to say RPGs, but the alleged shining-beacon for that genre let me down quite a lot (I'm looking at you, Oblivion.)

platformers, puzzles and fighting games. i'm a sucker for street fighter, and i can't wait for street fighter iv or super street fighter ii turbo hd remix (can you believe the title is that long?) to come out. :)

I like games with elements of platforming, action/adventure, stealth, and puzzles. Also non-sim racing games and rhythm. Ratchet and Snake: Shadow of the Guitar Wipeout sounds like the perfect title to me.:)

Generally, I'm not real keen on FPS, 'real' sports, RTS, RPG.

RPGs
Tactical
RTS

and the least is FPS. Only one I've ever enjoyed was Marathon Rubicon (too young to have had a computer to have played the earlier games).

I completely forgot about the rhythm games! I love them the best. Between DDR, Guitar Hero, and Patapon, I think I have to push that up to the top of my list. :)

In order of preference:

Adventure games, especially the old point and click style (Monkey Island, Space Quest, etc) but also other type of adventure games (Zelda, Diablo, etc).

On rails shooters/light gun games (House of the Dead, Time Crisis, Resident Evil arcade games, Nintendo Zapper games, etc).

Anything with mini games... I love the simplicity, fast paced/short games, and the fact I can get my wife to play them with me. Stuff like Mario Party of course, but also games like Puzzle Pirates that are based around mini-games.

Quirky original titles irrespective of their specific genre

Pikmin
Animal Crossing
Viva Pinata
Okami
Beyond Good and Evil
Rez
Ico & SoC
PataPon
LocoRoco

But I enjoy a lot of other more mainstream stuff, but hardly ever complete any of them as they don't hold my interest over some of the more 'quirky' new ip's.

Other more mainstream games I enjoy are the likes of

PC/Mac gaming..

Rollercoaster Tycoon has been a staple meal of my gaming since the first one and I love it.
Sim City & The Sims on PC too.

Console gaming...

Super Paper Mario
In fact Mario generally (Galaxy / Sunshine and all the other platform'ers)
Wii Sports / Mario Golf / Everybody Golf / Mario Tennis
Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter etc..
Zelda games etc..

And puzzle games on my DS are pure addiction (Tetris/42 clubhouse games/Brain Age etc...)

But I do and will play anything... It's just that I don't enjoy everything :)
