I'm right now in Brazil, at a place where I am always connected to the internet and where I always use WhatsApp to connect with people both here in Brazil and in the US. This works basically good. However, I am often missing incoming WhatsApp calls because my phone is not ringing.
All notification settings for WhatsApp, both directly in WhatsApp and in the general iOS notification settings for WhatsApp, are set to "on".
Just a few minutes ago I had a friend who was standing next to me call me on WhatsApp - and my phone was not ringing until I brought WhatsApp (which was on but in the background) directly onto the screen.
At other times it does ring when WhatsApp is in the background.
Is this a "normal" WhatsApp behavior, or this this somehow a malfunction about which I can do something?
In general - does the WhatsApp app have to be open (and in the background? or in the foreground?) for having it ring for incoming calls, or should this also work when the WhatsApp app is not open at all?
Thanks.
