Whatsapp Notifications Not Working

Hi
I have an iPhone 4 ( iOS 5.0.1 ) , I downloaded whatsapp and it worked fine for a long time , it used to notify me about any new incoming message . Till a certain date where I was no more notified about any new message unless I open whatsapp to check . This started to happen since the iOS was 4 , even when I upgraded to iOS 5.0.1 its still persisting .
I have tried un-installing whatsapp and then re-installing it , but nothing is changing !
Knowing that this thing doesnt happen when the iphone is on charge , where i can get push notifications about any new message even if whatsapp is running in the background

Why not update your iOS to 5.1.1

first :Because my iphone is not factory unlocked , am using a gevey sim
second : the problem appeared since the iOS was 4 ... it presisted even after i updated to 5.0.1
