WhatsApp notifications staying on the lock screen even when I’ve read the messages?

This is a new annoying thing my 17 is doing, as of last night sometimes a WhatsApp message notification will stay showing on my lock screen even when I’ve tapped on it and read the message. Is this more likely to be some big that WhatsApp has, rather than an iOS issue..?

Yes I think you are correct. A WhatsApp issue but not an iOS 26 issue. Although when iOS 26 first launched, I noticed it had issues with WhatsApp with the sharing function in photos; it just didn’t show up as an option.
That is my opinion. If I knew the answer to your question I would answer it.
