Click a link to have it open in a new tab? Is there an option or does it only depend on how the HTML is coded on the site?

When reading news I prefer to be able to open stories in a new window and not navigate away from the main page.

Perhaps you should try an RSS reader like NetNewsWire. Stories and links will open in an internal browser. :)

Oh I have that, but that's not what I had in mind. I was hoping for a trick I was unaware of, similar to control-clicking a link on a mac.

Middle-click on links to open them in new tabs. Of course, you need at least three mouse buttons for that. Either that or Command-click, assuming you have that enabled in the preferences.

Do you even know what section of the forum you're in? Think about it.
