When can I buy a full price AT&T 5s?

Blah, woke up early to get an iphone online. Realized you couldn't get a full price one thru ATT. I don't believe I can order one in store. So do I actually have to wait until Apple stores physically get them? I know I can technically get one from an ATT corp store, but I really don't feel like playing the shell game with reps who don't want to sell a contract less phone. Best buy was also an option last night, but I refuse to pay the $50 extra fee BB wants.

When, realistically, do you guys think we can actually buy a full price ATT 5s?

A corp AT&T store will be more than glad to sell you a 5S at full price. Two different friends that went to two different stores did so today.

it depends on the specialist. just call your apple store and see if they will sell you contract free "device only" phone. I did that this morning and no problem. They said just contact ATT whenever i want to use it, but i unlocked it first thru itunes restore.

I bought my 5s at an AT&T branch this morning and they wouldn't let me buy full price to avoid re-upping contract.

Found a line on the family plan that was eligible for upgrade and use that.

Same here, they handed me the phone, I walked over to check out, and they wouldn't sell it unless I resigned for two more years. Said it was impossible to sell it at full retail price. I don't necessarily believe them, (and told them as much), but they definitely wouldn't even try to check me out.

I walked into Best Buy this morning at 8:15 - no line; bought a 64 G off contract for Verizon. My buddy went to same store 2 hours later - same thing for AT&T.

I've tried to purchase phones over the years from ATT corp stores, they always seem to tell me they can't with a contract. I know it's BS, and I called them on it one time, but it has to be elevated to a manager and it's a pita to do and I really don't feel like dealing with it. Plus I kinda like walking into the Apple store and buying one, they make you feel good about your purchase instead of pulling teeth because someone is not getting a commission.
