when can I order the new video iPod(any color, any size) from BestBuy?

I have a $100 BestBuy certificate(rewardzone) that
expires in two weeks. Sure would like to apply it towards
a new iPod. However, it's nowhere to be seen on the
BestBuy site yet... :(

If it's not on there, how in the world do you think anyone else is supposed to know!?

sorry... I should have also said the following...

A few days before the iPod nano showed up on BestBuy's
site, some BestBuy employee posted here about the date
that BestBuy will put the nano on their website for ordering...
That's how I managed to get my nano on the first day.

Fortunately, yesterday was the last day of the 30-day
return period. After I saw the news with Steve Jobs
showing the new video iPod, I literally ran down to the
BestBuy and returned the 29 day old nano. (BestBuy is
two blocks from my office) :)

you have got to be kidding me, honestly that is so friggen stupid.

the nano has a totally different niche than the iPod, why can't people understand this simple thing?

ugh humanity really makes me sad right now. I own a 60GB iPod and am buying a nano as well, and if i eventually want a thinner iPod i will get the new 60GB one

Yes, I completely understand that the nano is a different animal... :) I just changed my mind. If the new iPod was annouced today instead of yesterday, I wouldn't have been able to return the nano, since today is 1 day past the 30-day return period. :)

Kathy: What did you tell Best Buy? I'm in the same position with a 2-week old 20gb color that I want to return. Did you just tell them that you didn't like it?

I just walked to the returns desk and said I wanted to
return the nano. They only asked me if it was used and
I said yes. That was it... then they credited it back to
my BestBuy credit card acct.

Unless the iPod is defective, it gets restored and sent back to the sales floor for sale as an open item. Unfortunately, iPods are price protected so they do not even get an open item discount. Once all the closed boxes are gone and someone needs an iPod on December 24th, they turn around and sell your iPod. Anything that is defective gets fixed and than is subject to the same process.

I realize you have the right to say what you feel, but can you please get down from your "Why would you return a nano for iPod video" soapbox. Its everywhere.

Lets face it some people bought a nano to play music on. The Nano was the best fit at the time. But the ability to play video for only a slightly higher price is attractive to a lot of people. You need to realize this. (not everyone bought a nano just for its compact size, light weight flash based.)

Back on topic, I would just call BBY to see if they know. I think BBY get them in about a week after the shipped around here. I just remembered I have about $150 in bby gift certificates. Thanks for reminding me!

I called the nearest Apple Store today (Indianapolis) and was told that they are not expecting any iPod Videos until late this month.....so who knows when Best Buy will have them.

I spoke with the manager at the BestBuy near my office
this afternoon. She said the store should get their first
shipment of new video iPods on or around 10/25.

On the way home, I stopped by the BestBuy next to my
local mall. The manager here said the same date.

After that I went in the mall and talked to the salesperson
at the Apple Store. They have a little flyer that says "come
in and experience the new iPod on 10/25"(same date!)
