Do you think we'll be able to preorder before the release day?

Secondly, why is the Apple store shut down?

It is shut down to prepare for the updated page which will go live sometime after the conference today.

You will know after the announcement if/when you can preorder.

They always shut down on announcement days like this, AFAIK. And they'll let us know when (and if) we can pre-order at the announcement.

If it weren't going to be sold today it wouldn't shut down, right?

All we can assume right now is that there is a change to their site. We don't yet know what will be available to buy immediately, what can be preordered today, and what will not be available until later in the month/year.

Patience... Not long now.

It seems everyone's forgotten how Apple works these launches because i've seen a ton of people asking the same thing.

Things may take a different turn this time round, but pretty much every recent Apple launch has had the mid-week keynote followed by preorders at midnight Pacific on the following Friday for release a week later.

looks like no preorders again. gonna have to go to a store or order online on november 1st. damn.

The thing I dont get and ive made a thread about, is why does it say November 1 available for free shipping or ship to store. So we could order and pay for it online then have it reserved at our local Apple store for pickup?
