iPhone 11 Pro When can I purchase AppleCare+ for my iPhone 11 Pro Max?

There’s been plenty of reports about Apple extending the period of time you can purchase AppleCare+ within a year of purchase. Does anyone know when this goes into effect? I purchased my iPhone 11 Pro Max the end of November 2019. I tried to purchase it the other night via chat and they said it’s 60 days within purchase. Looking forward to purchasing AppleCare+ for my phone before it’s too late.
