When can we expect Google Maps app?

The official one from Google? You've got a real Youtube app now, so I'm expecting Google to release their own Maps app for iOS users. I just don't have much confidence in Apple's implementation. I'll use it as a backup if anything.

Yeah, without transit the Apple map is useless to me and there are no easy to use complete alternatives for the Seattle area.

Hopefully Apple will have the integrity to let us define our own default apps sometime in the future now that the vision of Steve Jobs has passed away and they are going for pure flash.

Flyovers? Really? I probably will use that at least, well, once. I use transit planning every day.

One thing I notice about the Apple map app is you can read the street names , unlike Google maps.
