It's been a week now. Still not available in stores. Still not shipping online...

What the heck is going on?!!!

I think Apple is making sure that iMacs' shipments won't get delayed because of shortcomings in Magic Mouse. I asked from my local reseller and they said it'll take about 2 weeks for them to get them

I ordered it 7 days ago, when it also said 5-7 biz days.

From Apple's press release:

Pricing & Availability
Magic Mouse comes standard with the new iMac and is available at the end of October through the Apple Store® (www.apple.com), at Apple’s retail stores and Apple Authorized Resellers for a suggested retail price of $69 (US). Magic Mouse requires Mac OS X Leopard® version 10.5.8 or later.

I saw one at Best Buy over the weekend but I don't know if they had any for sale. It probably just came with the 27" iMac they had on display.

I read somewhere that the Magic Mouse will require a driver that is in 10.6.2 which is what's holding up the release. I'm guessing we'll see an update to 10.5 as well or a separate driver.

Apple already said (on their Magic Mouse web page) that there will be a Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0 for "10.5.8 and later," presumably meaning 10.6.1 as well. So 10.6.2 is not required.

The Updates Now available from the Apple Download Site Now for both Leopard and Snow Leopard, so It should Hopefully go on sale soon.

I'll be interested in seeing how well it works with a Macbook, as I'm looking at getting one to go with mine.
