When closing an app, the icon border pops up a second after the animation is over?!

I just "upgraded" my iPad to iPad OS 26. When I close an app, the border around the app icon pops up about a second after the animation is over, which is very annoying to say the least.

I heard this is also the case on iOS 26.

Is this a bug or is this by "design"? Do you have this issue as well?

Yes this happens on iOS as well.

The fact that the icon border doesn’t do that if you use clear or tinted icons tells me it’s a bug.

It’s definitely super noticeable when using dark icons.
