When contacts with pictures call???

Why does some photos cover the entire screen when it rings and others show a totally blurred screen with the contact photo in a small circle? I added the photo to the contact the same way.

What's that like?

I can't remember the last time anyone tried to call me that I have a picture set up for. Usually it's a business or someone that I don't have a picture for...so haven't noticed anything, sorry.
