I got my replacement battery from Apple this morning and now instead of the option ' Better Batter Life ' it's been renamed to 'Better Energy Savings' . Is this a result of the new battery? I find it quite odd.

The settings are the same, but I've never noticed the name change before.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Oddly enough, batteries have a tiny bit of memory in them, and Mac OS X uses this to store a few power-related settings... so it could be a result of the new battery. I have never seen this before myself, since I've never had to get a new battery for my laptop.

Wow you learn something new every day, wouldn't have expected something like that to have been kept in the battery. Thanks for that! :)

That is kinda weird...
I had my battery replaced about september last year with the whole recall thing but, never noticed any change at that time. Now I look and lo and behold your right! It does say "Better Energy Savings"

Maybe it's just a recent update and none of us noticed till now?
