Before I switched to the Mac, I had been wanting to for a long time. In around 2000, I seen an iMac in a store (can't remember which store) and fell in love with it's design. This got me curious, so I bought an issue of Mac Addict. I believe this was in around January of 2001 or so. I still have that magazine, too.
We were very short on cash at the time. I was only 16 or 17 at the time and partied with what money I did have, so I ended up just getting someone's home-built PC for cheap when my Compaq died.
Fast-forward to around October, 2003. I finally had the money to buy a Mac, but my friend convinced me to buy a PC and since I'd never actually USED a Mac (except in school when I was in like 1st grade) I went ahead and bought another PC, this one being another home-built PC. After having a BUNCH of issues with that one, I finally decided to just go ahead and get a Mac after only having that PC a little over a year. Got my first Mac, an eMac, on December 9th, 2004 and have had many different Macs (and even a couple PC's) since then and all I can say after all is that I don't see myself EVER switching back to Windows. Put me on a Windows machine and I'm in unfamiliar territory, despite being a long-time PC user before 2004.
So yeah, been a Mac user for almost 3 years to the day and I don't see myself EVER going back.
