When do new midrange Dell monitors come out? The one I want came out in 2022

Looking for a midrange 27" 4K monitor and currently looking at the Dell S2722QC. This model came out in 2022 and I don't want to buy an older model just for a newer one to come out in a few months. Unlike iPhone cycles, monitor refresh cycles seem to be unpredictable. Do they release these every 2 years? Every 3 years?

They definitely do release new models every year but they don't refresh the entire range. There's no point really, monitor technology doesn't move on significantly that frequently. Stuff tends to trickle down from the business/enterprise models (Ultrasharp) to the consumer models.

That said, the S2722QC is a great monitor with specs I can't imagine being surpassed (at that price point) anytime soon. I bought the S2722DZ (similar but has a webcam) last year, it was also a 2022 model, at a great price as it wasn't the most recent one. If it does what you want, why wait? Because if you take the logic of "a new one might come out in a few months" then you could be waiting for fear of missing out forever.

Agree but I don’t want to do the equivalent of buying an iPhone in Aug when the next model comes out. Or an M3 MBP 2 months before the M4 comes out.

I have no issue buying in the middle of a cycle but don’t want to buy at the end of the cycle.
